Not All Words Are Created Equal

As an introduction to this study, read A Fun Word Study. It explains how and why to do a word study. Word studies are one of many ways to better understand and apply Scripture to our lives. They aren't meant to be simply academic. They are meant to impact our walk with the Lord.

Whether you decide to do a word study or not, let the passages below inspire you to study God's Word in new ways, seeking to better understand your faith.

💙Isaiah 55:10-11: The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. 11 It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. 

God's Word has many purposes. It convicts us of sin and encourages us about God's love, offering wisdom for every aspect of our lives.

💙2 Timothy 2:15: Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. 

Studying God's Word requires time and effort, but it benefits us in countless ways! 

💙Psalm 12:6: the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times.

Studying God's Word helps us realize it is 100% reliable and true.

💙2 Timothy 3:16-17: All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

We should allow God's Word to do all of these things in our lives. A word study is only one of many ways to do that. Take time today to ask yourself if you are taking your study of His Word as seriously as you should.
