What does this mean? How can we shine our light instead of hiding it (Matthew 5:14-15)?
1. Remember we've been called out of the world's darkness (1 Peter 2:9)
Live gratefully and deliberately.
2. Have fellowship with Jesus and other light-bearers (1 John 1:7).
Be committed and accountable to other Christians (Hebrews 10:24-25).
3. Live a godly life filled with good deeds that give God glory (Matthew 5:16).
Do the things God prepared for us (Ephesians 2:10).
4. Obey God (Ephesians 5:8-9).
Jesus says this is the true test of whether we love Him (John 15:14).
5. Find out what pleases God (Ephesians 5:10).
Study His Word and seek His guidance (Jeremiah 9:23-24).
6. Separate from dark things (Ephesians 5:11-13).
Don't let the world pollute our faith through false philosophies, immoral values, entertainment, reading, and music that glorify sin.
7. Expose evil deeds but don't focus on them (Ephesians 5:11-14). Don't be ashamed to speak up for God's values but don't focus on evil details.

There are many wonderful passages about light, both the Light of Christ and the light of believers. Check out the passages below and write down ways you can become a brighter light for the Lord:
Ephesians 5:8-16: For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. 11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. 14 This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” 15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
1 John 1:7: we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
Matthew 5:14-16: “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
