Before doing this Bible study, you might want to read the 1-minute devotion 5 Ways Satan Speaks for a quick overview. Then check out these full Scripture passages for a deeper understanding of the truths it presents:
Satan speaks by:
1. Distorting aspects of creation:
He causes people to worship the creation instead of the Creator as explained in Romans 1:18-32. This leads to immorality and depravity.
He also creates theories that deny God as Creator:
2 Peter 3:3-7: Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
2. Misrepresenting God's Word:
2 Timothy 4:3: For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
3. Offering a fake version of God and godliness: Satan encourages people to misunderstand the true character of Christ and preach a Jesus who is not the Jesus of the Bible.
2 Corinthians 11:3-4: But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.
4. Watering down the Gospel with human wisdom:
Ephesians 5:6: Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.
Colossians 2:8: See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.
5. Creating temptations:
And remember these important safeguards:
1 Peter 5:8-9: Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
1 Corinthians 10:13: No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

DeleteGod bless you.
Sometimes I ask my self if God really is in control of everything why doesn't he answer my prayers. Why do some people have slot of bad things always happen to them ,others very rarely have bad things happen to them . Sometimes I think God is not very fair with us sometimes.
ReplyDeleteDear Unknown,
DeleteThis world is messed up by sin. Nothing happens as it would have happened in God's perfect world before Adam and Eve sinned. But in this imperfect world God offers us salvation that will allow us to live in the paradise of Heaven for eternity. This time on earth is like a drop of water in the ocean of time. During our earthly lives we suffer differently, but we know that our perfect, loving, Holy God will make everything right in eternity, and some of those who suffer most will be rewarded the most in heaven. If we understood everything, we would be on the same level as God. We would be God's equal. But He is far wiser than we are. He knows everything and we know only a tiny piece. I believe the injustice we see is a test of our faith. If everything went smoothly for those who loved Jesus, then no one would need faith.
These questions you are having are part of making your choice to follow or reject Christ. I pray they will draw you closer to Him, not away. One day all things will make sense to you:
"For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." 1 Corinthians 13:12
