As an introduction to this study, please read the 1-minute devotion about a Newsweek article claiming that creation was a "dumb" thing to believe: Dumb Things Christians Believe.
Evolution's acceptance is not based on logic or science. It's based on fallen man's determination to deny God. See We Can't Shut Up About It.
When Biblical views contradict popular scientific or social theories, non-Christians are quick to call Christians stupid or superstitious. But this is often just an ad hominem tactic to keep from discussing the actual scientific flaws in evolution.
Sometimes non-Christians even fabricate stories about Christian beliefs. Did you know that Christians never believed in a flat earth? (see Flat Earth).
1. Satan has always tried to discredit God as Creator because it lowers man to an animal without spiritual responsibility.
2 Peter 3: 3-7: Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
The Greek word theló translated "deliberately" means "to will or to wish." Some people naively accept the flawed facts of evolution, but others deliberately overlook the errors and contradictions in evolution in order to advance the cause of atheism so men will think they are not responsible for their sins.
2. People without God's Spirit will stubbornly defend flawed theories and refuse to accept the scientific facts that support creation.
Hebrews 11:3: by faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
What basic principles of the Gospel do we lose if we see God as a bystander to creation instead of the active Creator? How does it change mankind's position in creation?
